This piece captures the raw, untamed essence of Kinder Scout, the highest plateau in the Peak District. Known for its "Dark Peak" character, the area is defined by weathered gritstone formations - like the Woolpacks - and vast, peat-covered moorlands.

In this painting, I have used mixed media to translate the physical "sculpting power" of the elements that define this landscape. The work reflects the solitude and magnificent vastness of the plateau, where weather shifts rapidly from clear vistas to swirling mists. It is a tribute to a landscape that stands as a symbol of public access and the sublime beauty of the English uplands.
