Moorland Wilderness is a study of the vast, open spaces that remain untouched and untamed. In the silence of these high places, there is a profound sense of both vulnerability and clarity. This painting is inspired by the biblical concept of the wilderness as a sacred space for encounter. Historically and spiritually, the wilderness is not merely a barren land, but the specific place where God meets us - away from the noise of the world. It echoes the prophetic cry: "A voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the Lord.'" The composition focuses on the tension between the dark, earthly moor and the overwhelming light breaking through the clouds. I wanted to capture that threshold where the physical landscape becomes a spiritual one, representing the internal preparation and the "calling out" that happens in our own seasons of wilderness.
